Recruiters’ Wall of Shame
Since I am bombarded by time wasters (mostly recruiters) of any sort, people not even answering emails, not showing up to appointments, resume collectors and people practicing the “sport” of discrimination, I have decided to publish their names and what they did to me. Stay tuned for the updated list.
And here the list, also known as Wall of Shame:
- Chip Lofton and his buddy William Ansardy IV of Strutmasters. Through Personnel Express (which is the innocent here because this staffing firm acted professionally), they discriminated against me because I am Italian. Read the complete article;
- Topsider Building System Inc. Discrimination based on my national origin;
- David Ekle and Mike Cole of Ettain Group; they placed me with New Breed Corp., the job lasted only 2 days, although my personal “hero” Jeff Jacobs did not give me anything to do. The story is too long, just read the complete set of articles;
- Skip Robinson of Vaco Technology; he did not show up for an appointment in Charlotte (80 miles of driving each way) after he proposed me a job in Texas. I had the opportunity of talking to Ms. Renee Davis. Both disappeared, not answering my emails. The nick “Skip” is very appropriate for this guy;
- Carlton Fenton of Silver Search Inc.; he proposed a job in New York and after wasting several days of my time he disappeared;
- Allen Surratt, private investigator and owner of Advance Associates; after proposing me a job for him he did not even bother to return my calls. He wasted approximately 3 weeks of my time. Are you sure you want to use him as an investigator?
- David Brumfield of Vaco Technology; do you see a pattern here? He said to be far more serious than other people, such as Skip Robinson. Guess what? Disappeared of course;
- Mathew and Michael of Advanced Software Systems. These guys are even scared to use their family names in the correspondence. After asking 2,000 questions, disappeared as well;
- Dustin McGaha of Preferred System Solutions Inc. in Greensboro NC. Asked the usual ton of questions and disappeared;
- Robert or Tyler Hunter (he’s not even sure of his own name!) of AIG American General (an insurance company), just sent me a “job” proposal through CareerBuilder (a great source of spam) completely unrelated with my qualifications; according to him, he’s the general manager in Winston Salem (NC). He thinks that I am an idiot to work for this company as a sales person with my knowledge of computers. Guess what? He needs to go back to school, maybe he learns how to read. I am curious to know how did he get a job as GM;
- Matt Sheets of Infosystems Technology Inc. He contacted me for a possible job; after my answer he asked for a phone interview; I answered his email asking to talk at another time (doctor appointment) and I never heard back from him. Since I get pissed off by people not even answering emails, I asked him why he never called me and he finally said that the position was filled. I then told him not to waste my time in the future and the guy wrote me that he works with professionals (implying that I am not). He should take a class of good manners, but I know that with recruiters it’s a lost battle. Updated. He now threatens to sue me for any defamatory remarks on him. Unfortunately for him this is the truth (I save all my emails so I can prove it) and there is nothing defamatory here;
- Pamela DeShazo who classifies herself as “Business Developer” in Durham NC; she wrote me an email, but my answer was deleted without even being read. A Business Developer or a scam?
- Pauline Thompson of Tysons Realty Inc. This gal contacted me last December 31 2007 then on July 30 2008, asking to call her with “all contact information”. I contacted her on both occasions, left a message on her answering machine, she never contacted me back, nor answered my emails. Just bad manners or plain idiot? You decide;

Well, well, well!! Apparently our “friend” Matt Sheets of Infosystems Technology Inc. accessed both my main website and this blog through an IP address owned by Itiselect. He’s probably trying to make real his threats about a lawsuit. He accessed these pages at around 10:14 am of August 8, 2008, not long AFTER writing to me this unpleasant email:
“I did contact you. You said you were not available. I continued my search, found a candidate, arranged an interview for the candidate, and now the position is filled. I’m sorry if that is not convenient for you, but that is how this process works. If you don’t like recruiters, my suggestion would be not to use them.
I’m flattered that you feel I am important enough to have my own special place in your blog. I will be sure to Google my name from time to time to see what’s new. And thank you for the heads up; I now have a name to attach to any defamatory remarks if I need to speak to my attorney.
Now, please cease with your emails to me. I initially contacted you in an effort to assist in your pursuit of employment while filling a position I needed to fill. That position has been filled and your lack of professionalism has done away with any desire to work with you in the future, so there is no need to discuss this further. This is my last communication with you as you are now wasting my time and there is no benefit to either of us if we continue this back and forth.
Best of luck in your pursuit!”
He sent this email at 8:53 am of August 8, 2008. Of course he “googled” my name (I can read my websites’ logs), he was not even able to find this post and now he GOT AN IP BAN from my websites. I have the right to publish his correspondence with me, because ALL my emails have a specific disclaimer. The disclaimer says that “there is no expectation of privacy in communications with me. For this reason I reserve the right to use this correspondence on my blog and other mediums” etc.
By the way, in his letter he states “This is my last communication with you as you are now wasting my time…“, but of course he wasted his valuable time searching for my blog! He says also “If you don’t like recruiters, my suggestion would be not to use them“. This suggestion arrives very late considering that I am not working with recruiters since March 2008. Until now I found only 2 or 3 people worthing the title of recruiter. I will create a page for them. They are professional and they deserve a good publicity. Unfortunately recruiters are like car sales people; only 1 out of 100 deserves our time.
