I am proud to announce that I have recently released the new website of the American Singers’ Opera Project, a not for profit organization that helps young American opera singers to have a career in Opera.

The new website has some innovative features such as:

  • Completely database driven
  • Password controlled access with a granular definition of permissions
  • A blog
  • Highly optimized for Search Engines
  • Forums

This is an ongoing job. The website is built on Drupal, a CMS platform, with a custom made theme. Although the learning curve of Drupal is stiff, this is the best platform for a website that wants to achieve a good positioning on Search Engines. Its main competitor, Joomla, in my opinion is not even close to this target, although learning how to use it, is much easier. The feedback I received for this new design is extremely positive, although I have to change something in order to improve some aspect of this design. The 2009 Summer Opera Workshop of ASOP is about to begin and I thought that this new look and functionality of the website will be beneficial to these young singers.

I am a website designer currently residing in Winston Salem, with a few clients in Greensboro, North Carolina
